About Lisa Barr

Lisa Barr

Art has always been important to me, even from an early age. I am in awe of the beauty that surrounds me every day, whether it be just driving to work, hiking, or traveling. I began drawing in junior high school after admiring the paintings my dad did. I did not start oil painting until 2006 and have not stopped since! Most of my paintings are inspired by trips that I have taken with my husband, or when hiking with my girlfriends. I like bright, vivid colors with a lot of texture. Some of my paintings are partially done with palette knife, which I'm finding quite enjoyable! I just paint whatever makes me feel happy and like to experiment with different techniques. I also enjoy photography and pastels.
